Social media can enhance traditional methods due to the fact that there is many people on social media

Diversification

This is how a product changes itself across other media platforms. For example,  there is Kerrang Magazine, Kerrang Radio and Kerrang TV. Kerrang has diversified from its original magazine product to radio and TV.

Bauer media is known as a conglomerate. They own Kerrang Radio, MOJO Magazine, Kiss, Magic and Empire magazine.

Explain three ways that online technologies can be used to enhance traditional advertising methods. You must use real media products to support each of your answers.

One way an online technology can enhance traditional advertising methods is through social media. For example, the film Frozen could be advertised through social media by using videos and posts to intrigue new audiences. One social media platform they could use is twitter as on twitter they are able to post, add media, pin tweets so it is at the top of their page and use hashtags to help get their post trending which enables more people to be able to see what Frozen has posted, which ultimately spreads awareness of their film making it more likely that people will go and see the film.

Another way is through the creation of an app.For example, Doctor Who have created an app which has allowed them to advertise their programme on there too which will help to attract more viewers.
